Klein Collins High School - Upgrading Swim Timing Without Replacing Your Existing Scoreboard

Recently, Klein Collins High School in Texas faced a unique challenge. The facility wanted to modernize its swim timing technology by upgrading to a Colorado Time Systems' swim timing solution, while continuing to utilize its existing Daktronics swimming scoreboard. Rather than replacing a scoreboard that was still serving the facility well, the goal was to integrate new swimming technology with the existing Daktronics scoreboard and infrastructure.

A Customized Solution

Colorado Time Systems worked closely with Klein Collins High School to design and implement a solution that met both objectives. The project included the installation of a new Colorado Time Systems Swim Timing System, providing the facility with modern timing capabilities while maintaining compatibility with their existing Daktronics LED numeric swimming scoreboard.

Integrating equipment from different manufacturers can present technical challenges, particularly when working with existing infrastructure. However, through collaboration between our Sales, Project Management, and Engineering teams, we developed a solution that allowed the new timing system to communicate effectively with the existing scoreboard.

The result was a successful upgrade that delivered modern timing functionality without requiring a complete replacement of the facility’s display system.
