Training Keypad for System 5 or System 6
Train Timing System Operators Anywhere
Colorado Time Systems developed the TK-1 Training Keyboard to help train operators of our System 5 and System 6 timing consoles. The TK-1 lets you simulate touch-pad and button hits — which means you do not have to set up the real touchpad, buttons, cable harnesses and starting systems to train your operators. Now with the TK-1 and your System 5 or System 6, you can train your operator anywhere. Take your System 5 or System 6 to your home or office and do your training. Both the System 5 and System 6 manuals have a tutorial section that simulates a typical meet.
If you have a computer with Hy-Tek Meet Manager you can connect that computer to your timer and transfer times to your Hy-Tek Meet Manager computer. Then, you can use the training keyboard to give your Hy-Tek operator experience in downloading times and printing results.
Tip for Training
You’ll notice two differences between your System 5 or System 6 keyboard buttons and the TK-1 training keyboard:
- The Start System button is replaced by the “Start” key on the TK-1.
- The pad/button is replaced by the “pad/button” key on the TK-1.
In addition, you can use the TK-1 to troubleshoot your timer. For example, if you have a problem with one lane or one button not finishing, it may be difficult to determine whether the problem is in the timer or in the deck wiring. You can use the TK-1 to test the timer. If the timer works correctly with the TK-1, you know that the timer is good and the problem is in the deck wiring.
Both the System 5 and System 6 manuals have a tutorial section that simulates a typical meet.
