Pushbutton Troubleshooting Guide
Listed below are some of the common symptoms for pushbuttons, along with a list of items to inspect. Secondly, we have included some standard maintenance items for your pushbutton system. Symptom: Pushbutton doesn’t register on timer:
- Are there any frayed wires?
- Is the pushbutton shorted?
- Has the pushbutton been damaged?
- What is the condition of the banana connector?
- What is the condition of the plunger?
- What is the condition of the cables?
- Is the problem the pushbutton, the indeck system, or cable harnesses?
Maintenance:
- After each use, use a soft cloth to wipe off any excess dielectric grease from the connectors.
- Inspect each connector.
- If it needs cleaning, use isopropyl alcohol and a clean, soft cloth to clean it.
- Repeat for each pushbutton.
- Perform maintenance regularly, i.e. twice a season.
